The Round Table Of Dramatic Knights And Inflated Egos
Egos clash at the round table, and a demon waits below to rewrite your failures. Sovereign Towers is a fantasy strategy game worth watching.

The life of a Sovereign sounds pretty comfortable on paper. Mornings spent listening to your subject's problems, from gardening to exorcisms, and welcoming new knights to court who seek to pledge their service to you. Your decisions won't please everyone. Of course, no decision ever pleases everyone. What helps the People irritates the Nobles, the Scholars and Mystics never see eye to eye, and Merchants are just looking for an opportunity to screw everyone over.

What is it they say? You can't please them all.

The real stars of the show are my glorious knights. They come in all colours, eccentricities, sizes, and egos. My favourite is Gideon, there is just something mysterious about him that draws me in, and that flowing hair that is constantly at odds with the wind. There are five knights that you get to meet in the demo, unless the Jester with an exceptional smell is one? – I'll never know, I sent him on a quest for the bath and never saw him again.

The writing here is strong and gives each knight a unique personality that keeps you on your toes as you try to decide who is best suited for each quest. It's not enough to match the stat quota; personality goes a long way. One ill-fated harpy mission ended not in bloodshed, but with Gideon giving unsolicited beauty advice. – absolutely NOT what I had asked him to do, but I forgive him.

Furthermore, you don't need to worry about making mistakes and getting them killed, because like all good monarchs, you have a demon in your dungeon you can strike up a deal with and turn back time. Start your reign afresh. Rewrite your fate. Save Gideon.
