Pale Coin's first Major Update has finally put me on the road for the Journey with Call of the Swamp

Pale Coins is a game that doesn’t welcome you. It doesn’t explain itself. And it absolutely doesn’t care if you survive. You start with a battered weapon, an unkind world, and a long road ahead — chasing whispers of a long-lost Champion’s Coin through a land that would rather see you fail.
Somehow, this one slipped under my radar back in October. I’ve already scolded myself accordingly. What matters now is that after months of careful patching and player-driven refinement, solo developer Lukas Irzl has dropped the game’s first major update: Call of the Swamp.
Lukas has listened to passionate player feedback, and here are the key additions in V1.1.
Call of the Swamp expands Grenmark with new enemies, a new swamp-based challenge, and additional gameplay systems that deepen progression and customisation. This update represents the next phase of development following launch and serves as the first step in a wider 2026 content roadmap.
- The Swamp – New enemies and a new challenge within the swamp
- Cooking System – Grab a pan, light a campfire, and cook several different meals
- Item Collection – Find and collect items in the new item collection in the Capital
- Loot Filter – Specify which items you want to see and hide the rest
- Local Storage – New chests where you can store your important items
- New Items – Several new items for high-level characters
- New Prefixes and Suffixes – Increase item and build variety
- New Enchantments – More ways to improve your gear
Version 1.1 is available as a free update for all players.
Now you have my attention.
I’ll be sharpening my sword, scanning the skies for dragons, and keeping one wary eye on that roadmap — because if this is how the world grows, I want to be there for whatever crawls out next.
